LedgerMCP: Acceptable Use Policy

This policy describes what you (and the AI agents you connect) may and may not
do with the Service. It is part of the Terms of Service. Because
LedgerMCP is built to be operated by AI agents, it says explicitly what most
policies leave implied: **you are responsible for what your agent does with
your credentials.**
You may
- Keep books for yourself, your businesses, and (if you are an accountant,
bookkeeper, or money manager) your clients.
- Connect any MCP-compatible AI agent and let it read and write your books
through the tools we expose.
- Issue and revoke API keys, including read-only keys, at any time.
- Export your data and leave whenever you like.
You may not
- Use the Service for unlawful activity, including money laundering, fraud,
or evasion of sanctions.
- Attempt to access books, accounts, or data that are not yours.
- Probe, scan, or attack the Service, or test its security outside the
Responsible Disclosure Policy.
- Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties as your own
offering (keeping client books as a practitioner is fine and encouraged;
white-labeling the platform is not).
- Overwhelm the Service with automated traffic beyond reasonable agent use.
Agents doing real bookkeeping, even bulk imports, are normal use; load
testing and scraping are not.
- Circumvent plan limits, including rotating accounts to avoid bank-feed
pricing.
Your agent, your responsibility
- An API key is a signature. Every action taken with your key (by you, your
AI agent, or anyone you shared it with) is yours.
- Keep keys secret. If a key may have leaked, revoke it in Settings
immediately; new keys are free and instant.
- The audit log records every agent write, and any of them can be reversed
with one click. Review it: that is what it is for.
- Give an agent the least access it needs. If an agent only reports, give it
a read-only key.
Fair use of free books
Unlimited free books exist so that real bookkeeping is never metered. We may
throttle or contact accounts whose usage patterns indicate abuse of the
platform (for example, using books as generic data storage) rather than
bookkeeping.
Enforcement
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of this policy, with notice
where practical. Your data remains exportable except where the law requires
